I don't see how it would cost them more to change a backdrop. Unless they employ people specifically to do it, which sounds like the easiest job in the world.
Oh, for goodness sake, Rolling News! As I've explained to you many times, that backdrop is freshly painted by the BBC art department for each and every bulletin. In meticulous detail, I have to say. It takes six artists to complete the backdrop for one bulletin.
You'll never become a BBC News Presenter alongside me if you don't start to take these matters seriously.........
Not enough appreciation to the artists who freshly paint for each programme. Was taken down and put back up in just three minutes tonight
Unusual to see BBC London's late night (10:20pm Sunday) bulletin using the daytime London backdrop. Maybe the cost-cutting starts here.

It’s just struck me how similar the bottom half of each of those backdrops actually look.

The backdrop they use when they temporarily vacate to Studio D is much better. Why not use that one?
Hell, a black screen would be an improvement.
I don’t know why they insist on using that washed-out newsroom background 🤷♂️

Facts.
I really don't see a problem with the introductions. It explains to UK viewers why there is quite an international agenda, and also makes it clear to World News viewers why there are some domestic items they wouldn't normally see.
I don't see why anyone is "dying in a ditch" over it in view of the current simulcasts.

is the newsroom background live in studio C? i assume not as it has that horrible effect, just checking.

Studio C is not connected to the trundle - so unless there is another camera in the newsroom - then I guess not.
