When will they go back to the old format do you think? bbc world news presentation wise has been relegated thanks to coronavirus, the only thing unique about it is bbc world news comes with a London centric background.

Some shows like impact global I can see why more people are needed but isn’t it just a flick of a switch away in Studio C have I missed something here ?

If I said it won't, I'd be pretty sure that I might end up being correct. Again, cuts also play a part,

I feel they should remove the regional headlines in the middle of the One. Do people really need to be told what is coming up on the regional news, three times in half an hour?

The same goes for the national headlines at 1:15 as well. They are basically recapping a story that was covered about five minutes ago.

There's a reason for that. Not everyone tunes in bang on the hour.

More viewers tune in at 1315 and 1815, that’s different from the Ten.

Agree on the regional news headlines - the bulletin is only 9 minutes so it really doesn't have enough content for four teases at the top of the hour and then 15 past!

Also I don't believe the Ten has ever done a regional insert or even a headline update midway through the bulletin like on the 1 & 6? I know at some point they used to do a coming up teaser midway through. I can't remember when they stopped doing it.

Although to be honest I'm surprised they have time to insert them with how long the headlines last at the start of the bulletin. I mean, they must spend more time these days recapping the headlines and telling us what's coming up than reporting the actual news!

Yes, for example here in the South region, how many times do people in Banbury or Oxford etc need to be reminded that in a few minutes they will be able to watch their local news, with the people of Bournemouth reacting to their football club's relegation... (!)

I believe it was the move to NBH.

Does anybody know what happened to Worklife? Is it not available in the UK? Wikipedia says its on at 8:30AM but that’s when Breakfast is on.

Currently off-air due to Coronavirus as most branded programmes are. News Channel in normal times op-out at 0830 for simulcast business programme with BBC World News, but WN aren't airing it either

In terms of the halfway sequences, they have varied quite drastically over the years. I believe the first ever was introduced on the Six in the 80s which took the form of heads + sting + promo. But by the 1993 rebrand the Six halfway was just a promo for coming up stories; the headlines were dropped. One and Nine didn't have them at all, although the One started having a halfway promo in 1996. I think the One and Six halfways changed to heads + promo in about 2003 and it was at this point a halfway promo was introduced on the Ten for the first time.

Not sure about Breakfast News. They had a halfway sequence for years but I think it varied a bit like the other bulletins. I think it was halfway heads + promo in the early 90s but ended up being just a promo later in the 90s, ISTR. I do remember Breakfast having a halfway heads + promo sequence when it launched in 2000 but ended up being a promo at XX:15 and heads at XX:45 I think. Have lost track in later years.

Looking back, I can't believe there's only been 4 headline beds used on the nationals in the last 21 years:
1999-2007
2007-2008
2008-2013
2013-present

The 2007 one was my favourite which meant of course it was the shortest lived. What's been your favourite?
