https://twitter.com/chrisckmedia/status/1271734907124043776 New look to Dateline London today!
I’m not sure I like it, looks a bit rushed and I don’t get why the title appears to be in what appears to be a mobile phone / iPad black outer square? For a programme that isn’t about what people are looking at on the internet / phone, looks a bit odd.
Yeah I wouldn’t quite describe it as an improvement. The mobile phone outline is really odd.
Probably worth noting that from July 1st furloughed staff can return part-time. It wouldn't surprise me if the BBC like many other employers may be waiting until for that reason. Also by then the 2m social distancing rule may have been reduced, which would presumably have an impact on staffing/crew numbers.
And not WNT! Still at least the signs for things getting back to normal at weekends are starting to show their hand.
Maybe from the 1st July until full normal returns WNT will fill Beyond 100 Days slot for the time being at 7pm on weekdays and weekends? I think it will still be too much to produce double-headed programmes like Beyond 100 Days and Newsday. Then you have a block of normal programming
18:30. FOA
19:00 WNT (60 Mins)
20:00 OS
22:00 WNA
Weekends
19:00 WNT
20:00 Standard
21:00 WNT
While Katty continues to have access to her current home set up there is no reason why B100D couldn't return. Returning to WNT on weekdays would be a backwards step and retaining generic bulletins in the slot until B100D can return would be a much stronger position.
As a public body the BBC is not allowed to furlough staff .....
So all it staff but not freelancers are being paid as if they were working ....
As most if them are ..from home.
(BBC Studios have done so for some staff )
Social, distancing and the absence of public transport are the main drivers to prevent staffing all operational jobs at the moment.
And in any case working from home may become used a lot more .

Would they not have budgeted staff wages for the year already so that pay is accounted for?0

Really is time B100D was rebranded one way or the other considering we're not that far off from being 100 days till the next election.
Personally I think it's time they axed Beyond 100 Days and Outside Source and instead launched a new programme, hosted by the Beyond 100 Days team, designed to be simulcast on the News Channel and BBC World News from 7-9pm.

Completely agree, but I think the simulcast in the 9-10pm hour is important for cost-savings - quite the studio backlog here, which is why the 9 came from A in the early days.
In that light, a 7-8pm, UK-focused programme, similar to News 24 Tonight, utilising material from the regions, followed by a new simulcast programme between 8 and 10 could work. World can still simulcast with BBC Four 7-7:30pm.

BBC Four have always had the half hour of international news at 7pm
I don't see why we need WNT. 'BBC World News' is strong enough brand until regular programming resumes.
We don't need WNT. For some reason that poster is obsessed with the WNT brand and keeps coming up with increasingly far fetched suggestions as to how it should return and has done since the beginning of B100D.
