I thought branded shows had been suspended so why are they still doing Outside Source rather than a generic bulletin?
I'm really confused by this too.
I believe that a lot of the branded shows that have been dropped is because they use studios that have full crews. Outside Source is a fixed camera not is not impacted .
All of those have been done from C with a scaled back version of the branding in the past when B has been unavailable.
Harmonising some output on BBC News at this time has many benefits:
It simplifies the BBC brand, as the viewers are turning to the BBC for information at times they might not normally have tuned in, so to find BBC News branded output rather than “Impact” or “Afternoon Live” makes great sense.
It makes sharing coverage easier, combining World and News Channel when necessary, to mean resources are pooled.
It increases staffing flexibility as familiarity with individual formats isn’t required for the time being - staff can work on more output more flexibly.
Not using Studio B frees up technical staff to cover sick colleagues elsewhere.
Those programmes that remain: OS, WNA and Focus on Africa are sold to partner broadcasters overseas and are therefore continuing in those formats. It’s also clock change time, when the US clocks change at different time to the rest of the world and so WNA is on air at the same time as OS in the U.K. When the clocks change in the U.K., that requirement will also end,
1900 on Wednesday and Thursday was branded BBC World News. WNT is a slight anomaly - it exists on Fridays for BBC Four at 1900 and at 2100 for BBC news channel.

Not yesterday, Lukwesa was on air 18:30-22:00 with filler at 21:30 with Victoria Derbyshire. James Reynolds was on BBC Four at 19:00 though

It was never due to broadcast at 21:00. yesterday due to US clock change, its still in the schedules today and next week. In Christmas week it normally continues as a daily programme...
Notice that Newswatch wasn't on this week, and there's no future episodes scheduled at the moment.
I expect it's the same with similar programmes, and is understandable given the current situation, and will be interesting to see if or when they return.
Some programmes are continuing though, like Click and The Travel Show, with a very different theme to reflect the current situation.
