Agree. Essentially, this is what the BBC News Channel used to do before introducing specific programmes with different theme tunes and presenters and touch screens and travel shows/Click etc - i.e. Tell the news, no faffing around.

I’ve noticed last few days that the guests on BBC News are wearing BBC lanyards. Not seen this before. Any reason why?

If the same applies for BBC people wearing lanyards some rather senior people appear to be unable to mic up without help (while other much more junior people are more than able to mic up without help).

They probably ought to be generic unbranded lanyards. A BBC branded one implies that the wearer is BBC staff and that views expressed are endorsed by the BBC.

But a good initiative nonetheless.
