They've now lost the link to America and gone to James Reynolds in the studio.

Beyond 100 Days now on air 5 minutes late after some technical problems.

The presenters on this don't seem to like each other. Not a regular viewer, but today she looks like she is always trying to put him down.
She seems to be a bit rude and in love with her self and he scared of her lol.

My mother loves Christian but hates Katty for just the perceived reasons you mention

Well I won't be watching that programme again. Not really into US politics anyway.
Not impressed with that 'Katty' lady. Funny that her name desribes her personality.

No accounting for taste!

They are quite simple the greatest news pairing on TV, and it’s my favourite programme. Not always just about US politics of course, usually covers UK politics too.

You’re not really watching the show as it usually is (and certainly not tonight) - normally Katty is in Washington and Christian is in London and they do it split screen. Always amazes me how they can have more chemistry in little boxes on a screen than most presenters do sat next to each other.

Well she seems very nasty to him while stood next to him. I bet she's a handful to work with off screen!
Don't know anything about him, but he seems scared to even attempt to make any lighthearted comments.

Each to their own, I suppose. I can't say I'm a fan of Beyond 100 Days either. Nor Outside Source. Same goes for Afternoon Live on the very odd chance I see it. I'm not really one for messing around with banter and gimmicks on news programmes. I like it delivered straight and to the point rather than all this time-wasting faffing most of the broadcasters seem to do these days. Bring back the ITN News Channel!

I'm the same. I'm really not a fan of Beyond 100 Days or Outside Source at all. I personally find Ros Atkins irritating. I do like Afternoon Live though, although it does sometimes fall into the trap of becoming the Simon McCoy show (as much as I love him). It's only really Newsroom Live and the 8pm hour that has that "traditional" news channel feel. I too long for the days of the News Channel when news was delivered straight forwardly, and miss the pairings of Simon/Carrie, Matthew/Jane, Jon/Louise and Ben/Joanna, when banter wasn't forced like it is now and mainly kept to the right times.

Exactly. When news bulletins become 'shows'.

They think newsreaders need to act like they are your best friend and be cosy and use 'banter' to try to keep you watching.

I don’t think if Katty was trouble off screen she would be booked so frequently and reliably for almost two years as guest contributors and later contributor roles on NBC properties.

On Monday they played it up about Christian complaining about the freezing temperatures in Iowa, the odd ness of caucus going and the chasing of the candidates.
Don’t let anyone treat you like you’re a VO/SOT when you’re a PKG.

I don't think there's too much correlation between someone's personality and off screen behaviour, and their 'bookability' as a guest or contributor

Excellent explainer of last nights tech problems on tonight’s Beyond 100 Days!

There have been instances here in the US where if a guest/contributor is mean/unreliable/diva/hard to work with they generally won’t be booked again. And often they’ll be leaked to the media about what happened.
