Theres also talk of a NewsCast which I assume would be a TV version of Global News Podcast, which is produced twice daily for radio

Sorry Piers, The signs have been there for at least a year! No need for your involvement thanks!

Piers is possibly one of my most disliked people in journalism if that’s what you can call his trade, BUT, I agree with him here apart from the fact he’s trying to stir the equal pay issue again.

BBC News is committed to VD, so she’ll have roll somewhere and on television I’m sure.

I reckon it’ll be a turkey bap, Joe. I’ve heard it on good authority.

Looking away from VD for one minute (please!), does anyone have any educated guesses about what other cuts we'll see announced next week? I'm wondering if the BBC Scotland experiment will already be shelved. It's very much in its infancy, but I can't help but think they'll need to kill it before it becomes a noose around their neck. One other question - is this JUST a news cuts announcement or are we expecting something bigger? One wonders if the VD 'leaked' story was maybe to divert attention away from a planned big round of cuts, including possibly the end of BBC Four.

I’d guess BBC Four will stay, but I could see CBBC being merged into BBC Two. Would fill the morning plus afternoon / early evening pretty well.

Seems to be a problem with the bbc news lower thirds, they can’t remove the flipper and no lower thirds or headlines graphics...

They need some new shots in the countdowns! It’s sad they haven’t updated at all since September 2018 when they had started to update every few months since 2013.

Maybe they could give us the countdown from 1999 whilst they go about reshooting new shots Laughing
