Being reduced to an hour sandwiched between two traditional NC bulletins had to be the beginning of the end.

I'll be sorry to see it go from BBC Two though, where they had something distinctive at least.

Hopefully it'll mean the return to 5 Live for Derbyshire, where mid-mornings really are dire at the moment.

I doubt she'd return.... but you never know.

Entirely unsurprising. I suppose there was merit in pursuing a different editorial agenda to the Channel proper; the problem was the audience they were after wasn’t watching. It was therefore probably quite offputting for casual viewers to tune in and see stories on gynaecological implants almost every week.

Absolutely. On the odd occasion I am off work on weekday mornings, I ended up getting into the habit of watching Sky News. Always used to tune into BBC News 24 back in the day, but with Breakfast and Derbyshire there was no point for the last handful of years.

To be completely frank, BBC News is pretty much a waste of time now for the full-time worker. By the time I get home, we're firmly into the territory of simulcasts with World that are totally off-putting. And the less said about weekends the better. Sky News is far superior these days. Those words would never have crossed my lips 10-20 years ago!!

When they reduced the progamme to an hour in November 2018 (when they brought back the News at Nine and moved it to mornings) I had a feeling it would be gone by either the end of the previous financial year or the end of this one.)

So I wonder where this will leave Victoria herself? I doubt she'll go back to Five Live and there's no other vacant slots currently on the News Channel or anywhere else on BBC News.

The thing is, the programme did, and exceed the expectations of meeting the underserved audience. Just wasn’t cost effective for linear tv when most views came from digital.

RadioToday reporting Brexitcast will also end next week as Britain leaves the EU, with the weekly BBC One show becoming Politicscast:
