It’s solid red unlike the normal lower thirds which are translucent black, which probably doesn’t help.
Maybe they should've used translucent red?

I see they've taken the white bar from Sky News and actually done something with it.
Personally while it's modern and a lot more slicker, it's all way too large and makes Sky News sensible in comparison with their lower thirds.
