That explains many of my Look East comments as that pre dates some of the changes made in both Cambridge and Norwich.
Just worked out that's from 24th October 2017... as I can just about hear myself in that audio mix saying "... Northern Ireland" and "Belfast".

BBC London (top right) takes network continuity into the news, with no mention of the regional presenter (at least the last time I checked, which was ages ago), however I notice on the video that the South ident underneath doesn't have the regional identification under the BBC One logo either - I wonder if that is usual or whether they were also taking the network ident on that occasion? (I think it's the Oxford sub-opt).

I hadn't realised Top centre is Carole Walker for BBC Look East Norwich.
So quite a few opts could be missing

Couldn't they be doing it off Dish network? Or do they restrict the stations each subscriber can watch?
Interesting that a few of the stations seem to use most of their weather slot for commercials
I know it’s now the UK opt, but here are various “opts” or cut ins as they’re called for weather during Today.
Here someone had to have used a media monitoring service, these forecasts are rarely if never online and they never include the toss.

I've had access to something similar at work for a few years now and it never fails to grasp my attention at opt out times. Just so much going on and so quick and just impossible to take it all in. Nice to have it in recorded form
Ever wanted to see all the regions during a single news headline opt? What do you mean no.

Regions occasionally take the network symbol if they haven’t got an anno available for the combination of presenters on the night. I think the presenter for Oxford is Katharine Da Costa in that clip, rather than the regular presenter Geraldine Peers.

It’s impossible to record it from Dish or DirecTV. First, they restrict what channels you can watch and second all local channels are on very small spot beams (usually covering a small area- 4-5 DMAs). Additionally let’s say you have satellite at home but they don’t carry local channels (in many smaller markets locals are not carried) and you can’t receive them OTA you have to get the local stations permission (which involves them doing a study) to import a feed from a different market - usually its a New York or LA channels as they are broadcast nationally.

A bit late to this, but I noticed that Wales, Northern Ireland and East didn't use an ident with a Subtitles bug in the corner. Are there still "officially" strict rules around this - or given most output is subtitled, is the notification itself now becoming irrelevant?

The BBC is required to have 100% subtitles on all its channels with the exception of BBC Parliament (which doesn't have any requirement for subtitles though they do it anyway), so strictly speaking the "Subtitles" tag has been redundant for quite some time.

Thanks Neil. Struggling to recall when I last saw Subtitles highlighted on any other UK broadcaster's idents. I wonder if this requirement will go the way of the website URL next time there's an ident update (ie. in the bin).
