so Points West have nicked the Liquid News set and an ITV sofa? Did Susan's hairdressing budget really make them that skint?

Not the Liquid News set - as it was too expensive to fill with plasmas, it is the old BBC Three News set, which was similar in construction, but took smaller, cheaper plasmas. (BBC West had to buy their own plasmas, as BBC Three News kept the Liquid News AND News Show/7 O'Clock News plasmas they had for their 30 minute 7 O'Clock News set when they re-launched) If you look carefully you can see the mirrors are still there as well!

The Big Screen is also the old News Show / Seven O'Clock News projector screen - which was also used by Celebdaq (it had orange, blue and white neon surround lighting ISTR) They also used to use the same chairs, as the original Points West launch had a desk in front of the plasma wall, with a sofa set in front of their own projector/mirror combo.

Do we even get the pleasure of christmas trees here in Scotland? I hardly ever watch ST, so can't comment there, but I don't think RS have ever had a tree (at least that I can remember). Where would they put it in that god-awful studio? Likely we'll get a lovely artist's impression of a tree to go with the newsroom, if we get one at all... Rolling Eyes

I've just watched today's bulletins online, and there's no sign of any festive cheer in either the newsroom, or the "newsroom". Then again, don't Reporting Scotland usually leave it quite late - the 23rd, I thought?

Fully agreed BBC World about Wales - what a lovely set.

Just a question - why do the national studios avoid Christmas trees?

Lookaround now have their tree up. Looks ok, but you only really see it with the opening and closing shots of the studio, and when they throw-over to an OB via the plasma.

Reporting Scotland haven't even bothered. They really are the most boring and useless region out of both the BBC and ITV regions.

Well they never have bulletins on Christmas and Boxing Day, and Tuesday is a Bank Holiday because Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, so I suppose they might as well take the Tuesday off as well and start again on Wedneday for GMTV bulletins. .

Maybe Reporting Scotland don't have trees, but there sure is enough frost and ice in the air, when Robertson and Bird are on together.

Seasonal! (365 days a year...............) Wink

On further examination, Claire Sweeney's photograph on the screen for panto actually looks like Fionualla Sweeney!!!!!!!!!! (CNN)

Are these two Sweeney's related?????
