Here is the BBC LONDON attempt at a christmas tree, white and glowing behind the frosted panels at the back of the studio. I think this is the same effort from last year.

Its the same effort as every year since the launch of the original BBC LDN.

Well I just can't tell you how excited that makes me -- I may have to go upstairs and throw sixpences from the window.

BBC Wales' tree is far superior to Bristol's -- this year presents are to be found and it's not in the middle of the floor.

EDIT: The news in foreign seem to have moved it to the middle of the floor, but what can you do.

Off-topic, but what's that reflected on the floor?

It's not a reflection, it's a deliberate lighting effect - a circle of holly-leaf shapes!

Here's another cap from tonight's prog: you can see the effect clearly on the floor and the wall of the circle with the star and holly leaves inside.

The Peter Levy Christmas Tree made an appearance today, here it is in all it's glory (complete with baubles from the pound shop) with odd looking snowflakes on the screens.

Peter always looks so lonely in that ridiculously bare studio.

they have at least found a new camera angle to use though

I don't think that here has been a tree in ITV London as yet, unless it appeared tonight...

I like how the regions are using lighting this year. It's something a bit different

That truly is the worst regional news set i have ever seen. On the few times i have watched Look North Hull, it seems they never put those large screens to use.

Tree aside, I love the Wales studio above. It's an excellent idea to replicate on the nationals or Breakfast, for example.

Still no tree on Lookaround which is highly unusual. It would normally be up the week before.
