That has to be the most bizarre set I've seen for quite a while. The sofa is truly horrific. It looks like it should rock like a rocking chair...

Are those old pairs of tights and curtain tie-backs on the UTV Life Christmas tree?

More to the point, has Pamela done a Christa Ackroyd and had some... improvements?

The walls and floor look quite stark and clinical, but the sofa and carpet look cosy. Thus, the set clashes with itself. And the "rocking chair"-like ends of the sofa are just plain bizarre. I didn't realise that UTV employed blind set designers.... Rolling Eyes

Put The Telly On
Tree up in Meridian Tonight SE, squashed into the corner. At least they bothered. No caps unfortunately

Can't provide captures, but there's a tree in the sofa area of the BBC Spotlight (South West) studio.

BBC London has their white tree out - placed by the big screen next to the box desk.

I have to say that I quite like that set, if for no other reason than the fact that it sticks two fingers up and extracts the urine out of the so-called sofas used by the majority of the rest of the ITV network.

Well done, UTV.

That was behind the frosted screen in the newsroom at lunchtime behind the presenter where it has been the last few years!

I note it is still behind the frosted panels, just next to the plasma!

BBC London don't have a plasma on their main set - they have a projector.

My apologies.

Westcountry Live has a rather spindly effort with some light-coloured tinsel draped somewhat haphazardly over it, a poor specimen compared with the sumptuous trees on display in some studios. It looks as if their budget now only runs to a visit to the Plymouth branch of Poundstretcher.
