Is it always that dark or has the tree fused all the lights?
Yes, Central West's lighting has been poor ever since the lighting change from blue to teal.
According to someone at itv Central "the perspex studio wall was coated" just before the switch and it absorbs the light.

The south also has white trees with red baubles.

Those trees only serve to highlight how flaming tiny the studio is at TT these days since the scrooges at ITV shut the old complex down

Can anyone do caps?

The two Tyne Tees studios look really naff and tiny onscreen. The presenters normally look uncomfortable and the dodgy wideshot camera angles TT have doesn't help.
They're very small studios - I was shocked when I saw a peice of behind the scenes on ITV Local. It's a disgrace - They should have one reasonable sized studio. Instead of two tiny ones, for the North & South editions which are pointless. They normally run the same reports.
I wonder how long poor old Bob Johnson will get before he gets the sacked, and is replaced by Kerrie Gosney or Jon Mitchell from ITV Yorkshire.
Rant over.

I think Lookaround has the eest offering so far. They've got two trees in the studio, which I must say, are very nicely dressed. Don't suppose anyone can cap it?

We'll be lucky to get even one tree at Meridian SE but two trees.. thats just greedy

From what I remember of the caps posted at the time of the last revamp, it's still pretty small - although not as small as those who have divided their studios in half.
Probably more of a pantry than a broomcupboard.

aren't Lookaround are one of the remaining regions will a full sized studio and not a broomcupboard?

You don't get up early enough, the tree looks quite nice though and doesn't clash with the set (can't say the same for some of the other regions). I'm hazarding a guess that the tree will turn up outside of GMTV sometime next week.
I don't think Border's studio could ever be described as full size!

For those who keep asking about the lack of tree on London Tonight, I posted this earlier in the thread:
For what it's worth I think it's too early for any region to have a tree in the studio. Especially as they'll probably remove them on Christmas Eve. Christmas hasn't even started till then!

GMTV have told the regions to put the trees up for their inserts.

Eagle eyed viewers will have spotted a Christmas tree in our GMTV bulletins this morning. Don't be surprised when it vanishes again at 6pm tonight! Christmas starts much earlier on GMTV than it does on London Tonight. It's not that I'm Scrooge-like (I've already got my tree up at home..) it's just that, for me, it doesn't quite feel right to have the tree up at six-o-clock until a bit later in the month. Anyway, if you don't get up in time to watch GMTV, then you'll have to wait a week or so to see it. It's blue - and thanks to our friends at John Lewis for lending us a tree again this year. Who knew you could get a tree in ITV blue?! Anyway, just thought you'd like to know why it's there one minute, gone the next....
