https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7maGTJLraQat the title form up the place names are the wrong way. they didn’t bother to fix it. plus I think Winchcombe was once of the place names

They probably didn't bother fixing it because Winchcombe isn't a West Midlands town; it is in the Points West region.

Is it not? I always thought it was in the area where it's a pot of luck as to whether you have Points West or Midlands Today.

After staying with a family friend in nearby Greet a couple of years ago, I think i remember it being a BBC West postcode area on Sky.
I know aerials aren't as straightforward. But I'm sure they would cover more news from that area on Points West than they would on West Midlands.
It is Gloucestershire (South West England), so I'm sure they would prefer to look to Bristol than Birmingham lol

It's all down to Ridge Hill, the local transmitter. BBC West Midlands, but two versions of ITV from there, one Central West, the other (beamed towards Gloucestershire in addition) ITV West. However all the relays, carry BBC W Mids/ ITV Central

It's also frustrating in parts of Kent and Surrey. Reigate is a relay of Crystal Palace, the M23 corridor area that it serves is covered by BBC South East Today, which postcodes on Sky/Freesat are allocated to TW, while Freeview viewers have to contend to with Inner London centric news.

Parts of North West Kent receive a stronger signal from Crystal Palace, such as Dartford and Gravesend (the latter has a relay which until DSO was a relay of Bluebell Hill for BBC1 and Crystal Palace for ITV, it was changed to CP in 2012), yet editorially is in SET's region.

This is why I think the combined London and the South East lunchtime bulletin is actually an improvement. I haven't been watching on a regular basis, but a few weeks ago I saw it when they reported from a school in Merstham, near Redhill, which I think was from a South East Today reporter and hence under normal circumstances would not have been seen by Freeview viewers in that area who have BBC London News inflicted on them.

It's odd if Redhill postcodes are allocated South East Today on satellite, yet Reigate, which forms part of the same built-up area, is allocated BBC London.

Too late to separate Reigate from CP now. Because of the 700 MHz clearance, both transmitters now operate in an SFN with each other, so they have broadcast exactly the same versions of the PSB channels

Indeed, but I was more thinking about satellite, why Reigate and Redhill are apparently allocated to different regions despite being part of the same built-up area, and when both towns primarily receive BBC London on Freeview.

Ah, well, there are some strange postcode anomalies, someone in here a year or two ago did a detailed analysis of regional satellite postcode mapping in Derbyshire, where North, NW, W Mids and E Mids all meet

I remember when the 2008 BBC London titles launched they had town names like Watford, Slough and Luton
