IMO - Helen Boaden did very well. How incredible it is that she of all people was reporting from the scene. I should imagine as she is there, we'll be hearing a lot from her over the next hour.

Wasn't there another BBC exec on the Virgin train that crashed in Cumbria a few months ago ? Radio 2/5's Johnny Saunders was on the Upton Nervet train that crashed a couple of years ago too.

This sounds like a very serious story indeed.

I'm loving the way Helen Boaden is gathering eyewitnesses whilst there. She sounds like she knows what she's doing, more so than a lot of the BBC's reporters. Not just a pen pusher then!

Eyewitness reports it was driven by an "Asian guy."

Nothing on network BBC yet - but rain break at Wimbledon may change this.

BBC News does seem to have the a better photo at the moment compared to what Sky is currently showing...

Emma broke the news at 15:58. Peter announced it first one minute before her on 24.

Five Live have been handling it nicely from Wimbledon every few minutes with Clare Balding presenting. She's excellent actually, can turn her hand to pretty much anything, and the joint coverage during the week with her and Simon Mayo has flowed very well.

I'm impressed that Boaden managed to record the eyewitness interview and get the audio back, wonder if she had a solid state/minidisc recorder with her, or did it on a phone.

She was passing her phone to the various eye witnesses.

Sky seem to be better at getting footage from viewers through compared to BBC News at the moment.

If you're referring to Mr Sissons, frankly I'm embarrassed, mumbling and stuttering through proceedings.
