Sky News had a reporter outside New Scotland Yard about half an hour ago. While she was reporting, a very loud Becky Anderson could be heard in the background anchoring for CNN.

It looks like Becky Anderson is reading her script from a Blackberry! Never seen that before.

Although this is a specific thread - that is a specific event - it seems you have be able to simultaneously watch NEWS24 SKY CNN FOX MSNBNC ITN aswell as look at all available web sites to be able to contribute!!

Do Dermot Fiona Jane & Co. get extra danger money when standing outside in potential dangerous locations??

They could have not bothered with the studios tonight....

As well as Dermot Murnaghan outside TigerTiger, they could have sent Sian Wiliams in Wellies to Sheffield, and another bloke in a pub in Bristol for the No Smoking stories !! Oh and do the weather from Wimbledon for good measure!!

I noticed that too. She was waving it around quite a lot earlier.

Are you just bored with life? You seem to be really skilled at moaning.

This is a bloomin' personalised weather forecast for a global channel like CNN isn't it?

Spent a good 30 seconds talking about Becky Alexander's scarf, followed by not one but two photos of "my friends' house" ("I'll just show you their back garden as well")...

Considering ITV didn't do anything on Wednesday, I don't see why anyone would have expected anything today.

To be honest though I don't think the news warranted it - maybe a quick news report, but nothing more. It wasn't really a rolling story, it was far more suited to waiting to get the facts then packaging them together for the main bulletins.

This is something the old independent ITN would never have ignored. But now most of it's owned by ITV and the Daily Mail .

But no matter who owns ITN, they'd still have to persuade ITV to cover the story. They never had carte blanche to butt into the network whenever they wanted!

Sky were very good again. First with Park Lane, Fleet Street and a second car.

I'm getting a bit bored with News 24's copy cat attitude by automatically sending presenters out to location. Jane Hill is a rubbish journo, fact, she proved that with the Maddie case. Its the equivilant of sending kay to Buck house on Wednesday. Great in the studio, but outside, god forbid (for anybody who didn't see it, Julie threw to Kay who then spent the next 30 seconds giving us a sob story about her runny nose - bless)!

There was no need, good reporters would have done the job just as well.

Julie also putting in the hours, live from haymarket from 8am, disappeared in the afternoon and reappeared at sky centre for the evening.

The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact that despite the story was a good few hours old, sky seemed incapable of putting tgether a newswall grpahic, instead favouring the Brekaing News thing.

Sky weren't first with the news that the second car contained a device though. Both BBC News and CNNI beat them on that one Wink
