Major treat for anyone from TV Forum there with coverage from around the world. Including Japan, and STV boasting about the fact they were doing the coverage for CNN.

Another update at 6.25pm on STV.

Very well put together. Slick journalistically, a bit rough round the edges but that's always been the appeal for me of Scotland Today over Reporting Scotland.

Which is on BBC2 in a couple of minutes.

is Boarder Scotland have this ?

Doubt it. Which brings you back to the argument over the outdatedness of the ITV network.

Presumably if STV wanted to throw the F1 coverage or any of the Saturday night peak time programming off the air, then it could have. But their resources are limited at the weekend, so if they had thrown something on the air too fast, it would have been a mess. Also, they would have had to abandon commercially-valuable programming.

Reporting Scotland on the air on BBC2. David's headline sequence in golden sunshine, the live part after the titles in pouring rain. Very Happy

No change in presentation for Reporting Scotland - same titles.

Reporting Scotland doesn't seem quite as fast moving as Scotland Today. Not sure about the scary red/black graphic "TERROR ALERT"! No Jackie either?

I agree. For some reason the STV production was a lot tighter and more interesting, despite the fact the BBC has the odd bit of extra information (mobile phone footage of the search in Houston etc).

I wonder why STV got Stephen Jardine in .Louise could have continued to Present the special programme .Where is John Macay maybe he is on holiday.

STV again used the Politics Now straps. Their special did seem alot more professional, and Stephen was very good tonight. BBC Scotland's graphics are still stuck in the 90's, but hopefully that is going to change soon.

good point, hadn't thought about John - must be on holiday. I think Stephen has much more experience doing longer shows (e.g. parliament one yesterday).
