So Jane Hill's been called in to assist BBC News24. Is she the BBC ONE presenter tonight?

Yes, she just did the ONE tea time bulletin.

Interesting balance of what everyone's doing at the moment. Most network news is giving it prominent coverage but not doing earthquake coverage. Personally I would have thrown virtually the entire bulletin over to it, and

BBC1 - About five minutes at the start, with another report on the London situation.
BBC1 Reporting Scotland - Didn't really add much, did three minutes then went into the Scottish Parliament coverage. Suspect their correspondents were being used by News 24. Still should have dedicated the whole bulletin to it.
BBC News 24 - now double-headed, and sounding a hell of a lot better for it. Earthquake coverage. News 24 seems to take a while to kick into gear on the bigger stories. Should have major advantage with BBC Scotland correspondents on scene.
STV - Hampered by very limited resources. A few witnesses, five minutes, then went into a report on the opening of the Scottish Parliament, and then entertainment news (Christ). Poor - limited resources but they should have just used witnesses in full.
Sky News - Best by far. Most consistent, best witnesses.

You are forgetting CNN - as they did on Thursday - excelling themselves with open ended coverage.

Very good point. Closest video picture of the burnt out car, and doing well to collate what the other broadcasters are doing. Would they be ITN pictures?

Also, is this CNN US or a CNN International programme?

At times like this I wish I had Sky, because Fox will no doubt either completely miss it or be a disaster.

FOX News and CNN had the same footage of the car being extinguished, but neither Sky or the Beeb had it?!

Well no they wouldn't would they. There's actually very little facts still. Most of the coverage is speculation, even from some over excited eye-witnesses. There's be nothing on BBC Scotland, that BBC Network wouldn't have already reported.
Not that you'd ever get a local news editor bold enough to only cover other local news in their regional news in situations like this.

Got Sky News on Freeview in one room of the house, but unfortunately Fox News is only on satellite.

BBC Scotland could have gone big on the parliament opening and stated there would be more information on News 24. Personally I would have dumped that and thrown the whole opt-out to the breaking incident. I know there's a limit to what everyone has at the moment but very little else matters up here right now.

It was more disappointing that STV were so unprepared, as their news is on before ITV, so they would be the first port of call.

Do we think Jane will move off News 24 at 7pm to allow Chris and whomever to step in, or will she stay on. She is by far one of the best at handling stories of this magnitude.

Knowing Fox they'll probably refer to it as 'an airport in Glasgow near London' Laughing

surely they should break up the constant circle of the 5 pictures they do have with some shots of peter & jane in the studio. Even a map graphic of glasgow airport would break it up.

It's a serious story yes, but visually on the TV it's dull.
