God! Just watched ITV News... Pathetic coverage of what is an incredibly serious and relevant story. Steve Scott advertising the fact he'll be back at 23.25 with the latest............Erm, by which time this story will have more than developed. I suppose it would take the death of a royal for ITV news to break into ITV's saturday night schedule.
No, I think Sisson's doing a great job. I'm not embarased, annoyed or otherwise cringing at his presenting. Most other presenters stumble sometimes, and I don't think it would be much better with another presenter.
News 24 seem to be having some issues with keeping things going. Don't think it's Peter Sissons, because several times he's said "now we're going to hear from..." and then been a change of plan or long pause before anything happens. The coverage on Sky seems to be much smoother.

They reported all that there is to report at this point and were the first with video from the scene. I suppose they could have dropped the rest of the days news and spent the entire bulletin speculating about what was happening, but what would be the point of that? It's not rolling news.

They've lost their way with major stories. This is a very major story. COBRA are meeting again tonight. This is obviously the start of a major campaign here in the U.K. Somewhere like Glasgow was an obvious target, with all eyes focussed on London following the 2 attempts this week. We're in for a spate of this kind of insanity I feel.
I don't think Sissons has done badly at all. Yes, I'd rather have Sopel, Hill etc anchoring, preferably double-headed, but that's only because the way they present makes things more interesting and dramatic - better TV, in other words. But despite his stumbling (and anyone presenting on their own would stumble with breaking news from time to time), Sissons has been asking the right questions and getting some interesting information out of eyewitnesses. He's having a good day.
Talking of Jane Hill...
