02:00: A device has been found in a vehicle the haymark area of central London, Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket and Leister Square are also closed, the device did not detonate and everyone has been evacuated.

BBC Breakfast is broadcasting it as breaking news while BBC N24 are doing the same.

EDIT: Both devices are now safe and were detonated safley

30/6/07: A car that was on fire has crashed into Glasgow airport into a terminal building, the fire was extinguished and no links on what caused the fire or wether planting it into the therminal was an accident or a Terrorist event.

Peter Sissons is live on N24 at the moment, Don't have sky so not sure what they are doing, CNN are reporting the terrorist attacks in general but are not reporting the glasgow incident as Breaking News. not sure about Al Jazzera [sp] either.

News on one suspect being dead is unconfirmed, so is the Hospital evacuation, the hospital in question is Alexandra street i think.

Just mentioned this in the News 24 thread which is fine by me, but I bet this thread will be closed...

EDIT - Jules Lang (BBC London Travel Reporter) is looking miserable this morning...

I think we do need a clear rule to decide which topic deserves its own thread - its become a bit messy in this forum.

Not good at all!

It's Gay pride tomorrow, which will probably be cancelled - too many people in one confined place. They'll need to scour the whole area for other devices.

BBC superb to react to this. GMTV - Say no more. CNN - excellent. I should imagine ITV News will be on air at 9.25.

Is there really any point in getting an expert to be intervied over the phone if they are going to be asked questions such as "presumably the Police will be looking for intelligence that may suggest who was behind this"?

It would have been Mark Longhurst as he was doing Sunrise this morning.

Yup Longhurst, then joined by Stanford. Etchingham now on the scene.

Thumbs up to News 24 on some excellent coverage this morning. I've got the online feed on right now and they're doing a great job.

Noone seems to be reporting on the big issue here though - how will this news affect the hunt for Madeline?
