oh for goodness sakes girl - can we not keep this pointless ratings idea to the mocks forum oooh-eee how on earth you think its worthwhile discussing around 30 news programmes in 1 thread is beyond me. its just a platform for the tired old "i prefer granada over nwt" "i prefer look north", whoopie-do. i don't care. why not start a thread about anglia and look east, and perhaps discuss what’s good and bad about them, rather than posting meaningless crap.

London Tonight

Presenters: 5/10 - Ok, ,but would like 'local' presenters instead of ITV NC ones.
Graphics: 6/10
Presentation of Stories: 3/10 - Showbiz, showbiz, showbiz zzzzz
Weather: 7/10 - Chrissie Reidy is the only thing worth watching
Set: 7/10 -

BBC London News

Presenters: 7/10 - Emily is great
Graphics 7/10
Presentation of Stories: 9/10 - At least there are some 'news' stories amongst the showbiz guff
Weather 7/10 - Peter Cockroft is excellent
Set: 4/10 - I've always hated the BBC London set

South Today deserves 10/10 straight off the bat for, when opting back from Oxford, playing the sting with on average a 10-second video hold. Anyone who's watched it will know EXACTLY what I mean!

That's NOTHING compared with the opt-back from the Channel Islands' portion of Spotlight.

Granada Reports

Presenters: 9/10 Very Good Team/Let Ann O'Connor and Trevor Green present the main programme more
Graphics: 8/10 Good new Amimated Graphics/sometimes problems occour especially during the GMTV slots
Presentation of Stories: 9/10 Extremely Good
Weather: 2/10 Get rid of all the presenters and replace with Chrissy Riedy - she is better looking and knows what she is doing
Set: 10/10 Great Set/Nice view of Manchester which should be used all the time - It would be nice to see the presenters standing more

BBC North West Tonight

Presenters: 5/10 Gordon is good/Needs a co-presenter
Graphics: 8/10 Very Good/Better since the re-vamp
Presentation of Stories: 3/10 Not Bad but could be better
Weather: 8/10 Good new-look but seems to be telling you different forecast than the national presenters say for the region
Set:: 8/10 Good new-set - should have had a total re-vamp

Disagree with your presenter comment; this would have been applicable for London Today bulletins.
Presenters: 9/10 - with Alastair and Katie you can't go wrong.
Graphics: 6/10 - little difference to national during stories.
Presentation: 5/10 - a bit 50-50 really; sometimes really good coverage, other times the whole week is focused on premieres with Tamzin or On Your Side, which isn't really 'newsy'.
Weather: 5/10 - miles better than the *ahem* BBC new look, but can't stand the change in screen ratio when it comes on. Chrissie is an asset to the team.
Set: 8/10 - consistent with the London backdrop, along with the natioal look. Lovely.

In terms of London Today,
Presenters: 5/10
Presentation: 3/10 - stop these prolonged interviews!

I think tvmercia must have been so incensed that anyone could even suggest Midlands Today wasn't tops that he forgot to mention...

Midlands Today

Presenters : 10/10 - Suzanne Zeirde, Nick Owen, Sheflia Oza, Dan Clivero and Kay Alexanda. (Need I say anymore...)
Graphics : 6/10 - Umm, Now everything has a down side.
Presentation of stories : 10/10 - Done with the usual Midlands Fabness.
Weather : 9/10. Shef's there. But recently there has been a few problems, that aside it's the same fabness
Set : 10/10. Amazing set and used excellently since the relaunch, great newsroom (real) shot and giant screens and any programme which can be presented for 14 different shots is surly just brilliant.

Presnters 9/10 Sally is excellent, along with Stu Norvell(s.p)
Thier weakest newsreader is Pauline Brandt

Astons a little basic but clean and improvements made to sport graphics are welcome.
titles are as the 2002 version(if it aint broken dont fix it!),I prefer the music to the LDN versions most other regions seem to have.
Set
quite nice,bright and airy not sure bout the newsroom image thou.7/10
Content 8/10 very well done Local Magazine show which knows how to present the hard news and the more light hearted stuff a good mix.

Meridian South
Presenters 10/10 Fred and Debbie have a good chemistry,Ian Axton a good delivery and suits the region.
Graphics 3/10
Usual ITV Genric Crap.
Set 2/10

Very good at the serious news but with some very bizzare light hearted stuff.

Its a shame cos MT has slipped in quality since the move to Fareham.
South Today is getting a lot better, 3 or 4 years back the situation was almost reverse.

Oh dont forget the weather.
