The current version of it was only introduced last year, if I recall correctly. However, the general tune has been used since about 1997 I think.

If only there was a forum around here dedicated to radio discussion.

So you asked it on a TV forum instead?

I despair for your pupils, I really do.

Eye-drops might help your pupils.

I remember Patrick Lunt reading the news during Ray Moore and Wogan the first time around on Radio 2. Of course, that particular slot is now occupied today by a legend who needs no introduction.

There have been more inappropriate topics over the years, Michael. Radio isn't that far removed from television and not many members venture over to Metropol so I can understand why Steve posted his question here. If we're going to get pedantic, then this is a TV presentation forum. Therefore, threads about programmes such as Coronation Street, EastEnders and Doctor Who don't really belong here either. There has to be some flexibility with the rules or TV Forum would have withered and died years ago. It isn't the first time we've had a radio-related thread. Isn't it ironic that if you hadn't waded in to correct Steve, this thread would probably have ceased after I answered his question this morning and wouldn't still be at the top of the forum page?
