Quibi is shutting down, you might recognise the name - BBC World News entered a partnership with Quibi to produce a news show called "Around the World", anchored by Ben Bland. The show only launched on April 6th. Victoria Fritz was due to join the team when she returned from maternity leave, I'm unsure whether that has happened yet.

Don't think anyone is surprised.

Indeed - it was an odd one. I can understand Stay Tuned from NBC, and Anderson Cooper's one with CNN, and ITN's to a lesser extent (it is horrific, from all angles).

Quibi was an odd partnership to say the least.

Seems like she just presented her first edition based on her Twitter

Nish Kumar has a US orientated topical news show on Quibli which always looked like it might be quite good but I've not had a chance to see yet.

It seems Quibli doesn't own the rights to its content so I imagine something like that might end up elsewhere even if it's all just chicked up on YouTube

I read somewhere that they originally owned the rights for 7 years or something like that.

I could see Around the World and other news based shows being repackaged for Instagram or other social platforms.

Quibi was just a poor idea from the start, I suspect had it not been for the pandemic, it would have limped along for another year.
