Surprising choice, IMO.

Well, at least that Beeb article - unlike equivalent articles in certain newspapers - makes it clear that if she is confirmed, she'll be the first *full-time* female QT presenter. Wink

(To be fair, however, Sue Lawley didn't present *that* many editions, and her last one was before Dimbles' first.)

The articles also say that Fiona was the first female presenter on an election night, which seems to ignore Angela Rippon in 79.

Not forgetting Sue Lawley who also was on the BBC 1979 election coverage.

Although she was at the helm of a notable edition where Alan Clark criticised the government's decision to purchase a US missile system prompting her to ask "Is there anyone here who wishes to defend the government on this, because its Minister doesn't?"

BBC Press team think Fiona has been presenting Fake or Fortune? since 2000. Shame all those episodes never got broadcast until 2011. Rolling Eyes

I am glad David Dimblebum has been put out to pasture. Ten years late but at least it has been done. His time on both 2015 and 2017 general elections just showed he lost it a bit in my opinion - my opinion.

His opinion over certain aspect of the 2017 exit poll were highly misleading and imply prof Curtis and his team didn't know what their were doing.

He stuck in a rut..

I think a fair few people would agree with you, actually. Smile Wink

Of course, the 2015 election was supposed to be his last - before everything changed...

The next election is going to be his last until the one after that, which will also be his last.
