PM when he is on, is a quality listen. Sorry to see him go..
.. That said, now I have a pocket DAB radio and can pick up LBC maybe I won't miss his next day gig after all.

As that is the only logical place he can go on the radio.

It's Funny that you mention LBC!

It would be fantastic, hilarious and a stroke of genius to see him adopt the role formerly occupied by Allegra Straton on Peston in addition to whatever his new main gig will be—but I suspect that's rather unlikely to happen.

If anyone would uproot Iain Dale from LBC drive, it'd be Eddie Mair presenting in his current PM slot on Radio 4.

LBC continuing to rattle the BBC if so…

Yet in London, Radio 4 continues to be the market leading radio station. LBC has made miraculous strides with the parent company Global investing in star presenters and politicians in addition to going national on digital radio.

40 years on I’ve rediscovered LBC, I do ( in moderation) find it a guilty pleasure

In moderation indeed. It's fine in very small doses. James O'Brien is a shining example of how you can have an alternative viewpoint to the right-wing skewed wheel of news elsewhere. Steve Allen also does remarkably well for a format where he bitches about celebs for two hours at 4am.

Global would also debate that a station that has such viewpoints from James O'Brien and Nigel Farage shows that they have a range of viewpoints from across the political spectrum.

'Peston & Mair Live'. That would be great, but currently, the only way that could happen is if Eddie left the BBC.
Which he is.

Although amusingly, when the Peston show returns in the new midweek live slot, it'll be done from TVC! So, not really leaving BBC operated premises entirely.

I'm part of Global Radio and LBC is incredible!

I've not been a fan of LBC since Global took over, except for The weekly Mystery Hour and, on the rare occasion I have the radio on early enough, Steve Allen.

I miss the days when it wasn't just news based opinionated phone ins and there was a bit of entertainment and humour. Although I when I first started listening to it, most of the output was either very serious journalism, or cosy conversation and gardening phone ins. Not sure I want that era back

Jeremy Beadle’s weekend evening show was some of the most creative and original live radio I’ve ever heard
