It's now a few months since the new presenting teams were launched on North East Tonight, so who is your favourite female presenter?

There seems to be some resentment to Philippa Tomson having been brought in from outside so will this leave her trailing?

Maybe Miss Malia beats the commercial lot hands down - you decide!

I live in the North of the region. I get Philippa Tomson on Tyne Tees with Carol of course on Look North. However I must say Pam Royle is the Queen of the Tea-time slot. As she has been at the Tyne Tees station for a long time and is a brilliant presenter. Also she has worked very hard.

I voted for Pam Royal, but I also like Pip, really not fussed at all with frosty faced Malia at all, I'd like to see someone with a bit of personality like Kim Ingles over on Look North to be honest..

Well interesting results so far.

I had expected Pam Royle to walk it but she seems to have a strong challenge from her BBC rival

I always liked Pam Royle when I lived in the North East. Carol Malia just never managed to replace Mike Neville when he defected to TTTV (or C3NE as it was at the time).

Pam Royle has something of an advantage over Pip Thomson too as she is a well known face right across the north east.

Viewers of Tyne Tees South will have only seen Pip doing the late night bulletin when she has been on the roster and so have less to judge her on. Would be interesting to know how she was regarded at Central News West.

Was she a co-host on that, or a reporter?
