Just saw it on Sky News

It was a ghastly performance on the slopes at Klosters, when Princes Charles, Harry and William gathered for their annual photoshoot with the paparazzi. In an ill-tempered and foul mood, HRH the Heir to the Throne found it increasingly difficult to participate in this years shoot, and muttered several things under his breath, but unfortunately picked up my the TV microphones.

When eventually asked by Witchell how he felt about the pending nuptials, HRH allegedly muttered under his breath, something like, " Christ, these bloody people. And this man, I really can't stand him....."

Poor Nicholas Witchell.

Sorry if the above is not entirely accurate transcript, as I was watching a screen from afar. But, Sky provided subtitles. HRH's comments could be clearly heard.

This will certainly fan the flames in the old Royals versus the Media fire!!

Some would say he is entitled to his opinion just like everyone else.

Yes, I suppose everyone IS entitled to their own opinions. Just unfortunate for HRH that it will prolong the whole current media frenzy over the ill planned wedding.

Sky - in a way that only Sky can muster - posted a poll. Was the Prince correct in his comments?? The majority of voting viewers felt that he was.

Very bizarre - for a moment, I thought it was a new episode of Pallas... anyone remember that?

He's certainly entitled to his opinion, however the question was one that had been agreed in advance by Clarence House, was not exactly deeply probing and certainly did not require the reponse it received, which was nothing more than incredibly rude.

I was watching on the ITV News Channel and they hadn't picked up on the fact as they showed the comments - I did. Only when Al Stewart came on did I hear the 'news'.

Total non-story. Totally pointless. The BBC should have risen above it.
So Charlie can't stand someone. So what. Is there really nothing better in the news today? And ITV led on it!!!
JW
JamesWorldNews
Sky led on it too. Can't comment about BBC N24 back in the UK, but neither BBC World or CNNI considered it newsworthy at all.

Just been on N24 10m mins or so ago, with subtitles. Also a recorded 'as live' snippet from Nick Witchell as he told us how he seemed to set off the Prince's outburst with an "ordinary" question. Also a studio debate where Chris Eakin actually referred explicitly to Nick Witchell being on the receiving end of the Prince's comments: "I mean, Nick Witchell...he's our royal correspondent!"
