previewing of programmes

Do we need 2 presenters on all News programmes. Gordon managed very well before on his own 61 or not is this ageism again? After all News at 10 is presented by one person and less biased. Is this not a waste of licence payers money?
I am sick of seeing excerpts of programmes and News before it even begins. The news no longer needs to be watched in full because you can see it all in the first minute and if you decide to watch the 6 oclock news and Look North you can see the same clips repeated through both programmes at least 3 times.
I don't know about you but I never read a book from the back to front because I want the eliment of surprise at the end or is it me who is odd.

Misleading thread title here - and I disagree with the view screening the headlines spoils the news bulletin. It's not a drama or anything - it's the news, and many viewers like to pick and choose what news they watch, so the headlines help them do that.



As for the topic I thought this thread might be discussing, the news is increasingly being used over the last few years to promote content on the channel later - whether it's news or not - notably examples of course being Panorama and Tonight.

The point of headlines is that they give you a quick summary of the news if you can't watch the whole programme.

Urgh I don't see how this is not relevant to the other thread regarding the money saving suggestions. North West Tonight isn't putting Ranvir on the scene because Gordon is old - it's simpily reformatting the program to pull in more viewers and refresh the style. The old style and set was dull.

Everything gets a revamp occasionally.
