Any particular reason why the BBC is using German coverage for opinions of the American public? Either that or they're borrowing ARD's microphones!

Either there was more than one microphone being used... or it was obtained via Eurovision

Loving that skynews.com have left on the pool feed - now time to look for someone saying something incriminating on an ambient mic.

Actually seeing Sky News HD on my HDTV, I must say I am impressed, and waiting for the full HD channel to come soon!!!! Smile

The Graphics were subtle, perhaps too much so IMO, and I am sure they will have another little relaunch of their graphics, before a full HD channel goes on air. Now thats both pre-packaged programmes and live broadcast HD test done by sky.

And he forgot the oath! Must be pretty nerve-wracking!

He didn't the Chief Justice stuffed up when he was reciting it and Obama waited until he corrected him self.

Nice bit of editing on the BBC highlight compilation - managing to get rid of the oath fluffs.

Hehe, unfortunately I suspect these graphics may lead people to a false sense of security about just what a HD channel might end up looking like - I suspect they've just tried to attack the smallest number of Viz templates possibly to get the HD stream going Razz

That much was obvious...

No Ticker, or local time clock, and obviously if there was a full channel, we would have sidebar graphics on the right...

Absolutely loved Sky's coverage. The few times I turned over to BBC HD, I was put off by Huw and Matt's constant talking over what was happening, while JT on Sky kept it to a minimum.

Graphics on "Sky News HD" on Sky Arts were really neat as well - switching back to Sky News at 6pm and the normal graphics look really chunky and horrible now!

He did respond to the first line too early

There was a pretty complicated title sequence at 6, which seemed to go off without a hitch. Matt Frei did the initial headlines, then paused; the UK opted out for headlines from George Alagiah (while Matt continued on World); then the regions opted, and Joanna Gosling did further (sports?) headlines for News Channel. World played their special titles, in the UK we had the Six titles, and it all came back together to time.
