Though Huw's no stranger to talking to much, is he? Remember the Olympics anybody?
At around 5pm we went from having a knock-off of God Save the Queen to a knock-off of Lord of the Dance!
And he forgot the oath! Must be pretty nerve-wracking!

I wish Huw Edwards and Matt Frei would SHUT UP! Way too much commentary over proceedings.

So one minute he's basically blaming those too greedy for the current economic crisis, then telling us it's the same kind of "risk takers" on which America is built
The BBC seem to have shut up over the main action, but in the build up there was far too much talk and not enough of letting the action do the talking. Such a shame ITV can't be bothered covering it - they outdid the BBC on election night and I'm sure they would have tonight too, yet as usual the ratings wouldn't reflect that.

I think it's costs rather than "can't be bothered".

OK, I'm over simplifying things here but considering they'll have a host over there plus more than one correspondent for the event, plus live pics are all being fed up, the extra cost of covering it live would be quite negligible surely.

Depends on the expected audience and thus the advertising revenue doesn't it? More to "costs" than the cost of production...

I will follow with a the full vid which had a whole 50s countdown
(I can hear the pants wetting at that thought
