Here's a taste of how some German TV channels will cover the election, according to these TV listings:
RTL will provide its election night coverage from a studio in New York's Times Square. The coverage will include live crosses to 12 correspondents in the US, Russia, France, the UK and Israel, who will report on how the world is reacting to the results. RTL will also organize an election party in Berlin together with the German news channel n-tv and CNN. The coverage will include an interactive component, with contributions from bloggers and the like.
ZDF plans extensive live coverage throughout the night, with correspondents at the US Embassy in Berlin (where an election party is planned), several other German locations with US connections, New York, Washington, and the two campaign headquarters (Chicago and Phoenix).
ARD will base its coverage in Washington, with two primary anchors, several analysts, one person in charge of presenting the latest results, contributions from various correspondents, as well as talk segments hosted from Washington and New York.
Sat.1 and the 24-hour news channnel N24 will join forces to provide live election night coverage from Berlin and Washington, with anchors from both broadcasters.

In Australia..
The ABC have a special hour-long edition of the midday report at 12pm AEST according to this. I suspect there will also be pretty significant coverage online at http://www.abc.net.au/news/events/us-election/ . They've got about four permanent correspondents in the US so it should be interesting to see what they put together.
SBS are covering it from about 3.30pm AEST - they'll most likely do it from their news studio in Sydney. They're taking coverage from CNN alongside their own correspondents in the US - Washington, presumably, and maybe a few other places.
Seven will cut into their usual daytime programming, presumably with NBC since that's where they take a lot of programming, but that's not yet been anounced.
So far nothing from Nine or Ten.

If I remember rightly, they had a US map painted onto the ice rink that was coloured in as the results came in. The BBC did something similar at the Baltic Art Gallery for the last UK election.

In the states MSNBC/NBC will be broadcasting live from their 'Election Plaza' at 30 Rock on November 3rd + 4th. Last time they used the same location if the promos are anything to go by but called it 'Democracy Plaza' IIRC.

Well, Question Time is in Washington DC tomorrow, so it would certainly make sense for him to stay, and then to fly back on the Thursday to present QT that evening.

Do we know whether Dimbleby will be shipped out to present the BBC's Election coverage?
