Is it me or has anyone else had enough of Wolf Blitzer and co repeatedly saying 'The best Political Team on Television.... It's every 5 minutes, so distracting, and hugely annoying.

The Situation Room has become on of my fave programs in the run up to the election, but that phrase has got to go!

No, because most US networks have something like that for this election & you simply have to put up with it.

Yeah, It'll be shown on both BBC News Channel and Sky News from 2am.

BBC One will show the last hour of the debate when they join BBC NC at 3am.

Just came across this online, a few trailers also appearing across the channel Today.

"US presidential debate - starts Sat 27 Sept at 11pm

As the race for the White House hots up, More4 is the only British channel showing the presidential and vice-presidential debates in full. In a closely fought contest, these pre-election showdowns can have an instant impact on the popularity of candidates. The first of three presidential debates starts on 27 September at 11pm, 24 hours after the debate airs live in the US. It's followed on 3 October by the vice presidential debates between self-styled 'pitbull with lipstick' Sarah Palin and Barack Obama's running mate Joe Biden."

Don't really understand why More4 are holding them back until so late - indeed surely they'd be the perfect antidote to Strictly and The X Factor on a Saturday night.

They're also screening the John Adams miniseries from tonight at the ridiculous time of 5.30pm - I was assuming it would be at the centre of their schedule and get a 9pm slot.

And The Daily Show is lampooning it brilliantly - describing their team as "The best ****ing news team on Television" and running ridiculously OTT profile packages on their reporters like Aasif Mandvi, Samantha Bee etc.

Brilliant isn't it?

Just like The Day Today - their graphics are spot-on pastiches of US News. (In fact they're a bit too good for a lot of the channels...)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's been thinking that. The Daily Show has regularly managed to do great graphics - a damn sight better than the ones on CNN US or Fox News! Not only that, but I think the current set is fantastic as well - particularly the desk.

But that's all a bit off topic. Embarassed

After seeing a bit of the debate on More4 last night thank god our politicians are so reluctant to do them this side of the Atlantic.

OK, it may be important - but especially for American TV, it's unbelievably dull. No interruptions - and no noise from the audience. They aren't allowed tl clap or cheer at all. It's as about as riveting as Italian Hole in the Wall - minus the girls in bikinis!

I think how we do thins is much better, with each leader generally getting a show to themselves on both the BBC and ITV where they do interact with the audience - who aren't forced to remain silent!

Quick question - do the American's have an equivalent of our PMQs for the President?

They have different formats for each of the debates generally. I know in the past they've had 'town hall' style debates, where the candidates appear together and take questions direct from an audience. John McCain wanted to have a series of those this time around, however Obama wasn't keen on the idea - I don't know if they're going to have one at least though.
