Love the election style on Sky News, using a different bed on the countdown and during the headlines. The voice over- similar to the one on Whitehouse unplugged- names all of the presenters in the US even if they aren't presenting!

Yeah I really liked that, the music sounded great. Lovely titles too and all round impressive coverage from Sky,with the exception of some dodgey stuff from the 'White House' in Miami.

Can anyone provide a rundown of what the US networks are doing - can't seem to find a decent comparison anywhere. Are they all dedicating the whole of primetime and beyond to it, or is one of them opting to offer regular programming as an alternative instead?

TVNewser has more information than you can shake a stick at...

CNN
* Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper and Campbell Brown in the CNN Election Center.
*John King with the graphics at the 'Magic Wall'
* 'Holograms' of guests being beamed into the studio from various locations, using multi-camera technology

Fox
* Brit Hume anchoring from a brand new HD studio
* Bill Hemmer with the graphics at the 'Bill Board'
* Shepard Smith anchoring separate coverage for Fox TV network

NBC
* Brian Williams, Tom Brokaw and Andrea Mitchell in Studio 8G (home of 'Football Night in America')
* Rockefeller Plaza turned into 'Election Plaza' - with electoral map on the ice rink and bar chart on the 30 Rock tower (as in 2004)
* Chuck Todd in a virtual reality studio
* MSNBC coverage hosted by David Gregory, with Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow
* EDIT: Preview of NBC's HD graphics for election night

ABC
* Charles Gibson, Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos in the Good Morning America studio in Times Square.
* Results displayed on the ABC screen, the Nasdaq building and the 23-storey high Reuters sign.

Anyone know if any of the US coverage will be available on the web? Via TVU or similar maybe?

Here's a sneaky peek at where Jeremy Vine will be leaping around on Tuesday night:

With the graphics switched on, there does appear to be something of a bottomless pit, as well as a wall that seems to be based on south hall at TVC.

According the the CNN press release, the CNN US coverage will be streaming online (they normally show special coverage from the cnn.com team - but not this time, by the looks of it).

MSNBC.com will be streaming someone's coverage, but it's hard to tell from the press release whether it will be NBC's, MSNBC's, or both. In 2004 it was the NBC network coverage, and the quality was good.

EDIT: In, fact, MSNBC's streaming live today, from 3pm.

Fox News doesn't look like it'll be streaming via the site - but it's available pretty reliably on TVU.

CBS will have a live stream at cbsnews.com from 11.30pm UK time.

So that just leaves ABC - which I'm not sure about.

I thought it was a couple of VHS camcorders and a wet bit of string...

MSNBC said just before the last ad break that they would be providing "All day election coverage, broadcast in 78 countries around the world."

Will that just be international networks dipping in and out of coverage like ITV, or do you think that is full rebroadcasts?

Presumably CNN International will be taking CNN domestic?
