Love the ITV election studio; saw the preview a bit earlier on tonight's Late News and the music sounds great too, very orchestral with plenty of brass. Can't help thinking the studio would look less empty with a few more of those virtual glass sheets though.
Presumably ITN are anchoring from London then - rather than Washingtong (BBC) or Florida (Sky)?
Let's hope they don't cut the wrong ITN studio up - otherwise Jeremy Vine might appear on their output...
(AIUI whilst Dimbleby et al are in the US, the BBC Virtual graphics are being done at ITN - as has been the case for the last couple of local election shows?)
AlJazeera English are pulling out all the stops aswell
Quote:
'Al Jazeera English will also broadcast a 12-hour marathon from its Washington, D.C. bureau in addition to having reporters in 11 locations throughout the U.S. and in 14 countries'
Also, I suspect there will be a contribution from the main Doha studio as during the Primaries the newswall was used as a large map. Aswell as all this, they are asking for viewers comments via their YouTube page, heres Lauren Taylor at the 'Interactive Hub' or the Doha newsroom.
ITV's election set looks very nice, continuing with the NaT theme it seems.

that's right - and judging by what's been on their studio output over the last couple of days, I'd say N9's going to be playing a part in graphics production too.
It's not immediately clear to me - who is that presenter in the above ITN studio caps? Is it Alastair Stewart?
Spot on, it's Alistair Stewart, who will be the London based host for the programme, Julie Etchingham will be in New York
New York is an odd choice for the other main "anchor". It's quite photogenic and interesting for a British audience looking in on America but it's not anywhere near where this election is going to be decided- it's Democrat through and through...even Kerry won it 4 years ago.
If I only had one spare anchor to sit somewhere in America, I think I would put them in Chicago. It's the home of the likely winner (and the home of a massive story if he doesn't win), and with it's position in the central time zone should announce its result roughly when the final result of the election is on the point of declaration by the US tv networks.
