You guys need to read 'The Da Vinci Code' then you'll know about the Pope!

'The Real Da Vinci Code' at 2100 Thursday 3rd on Channel 4 apparently widely debunks much of what the book claims. Just to bring it back to TV for a moment...!

Funny with all this going on just as I've started reading 'Angels and Demons', another book by Dan Brown that is set in the Vatican just after the death of the Pope. In this book the whole event including relelecting the new pope does not recieve much TV coverage at all with the BBC being the only network to send out a reporter - and an unexperienced one at that.

The Da Vinci Code is a rip-off of work done by other historians. Dan Brown basically nicked their work, added a few characters, and made it into a novel. The facts surrounding the book however, and widely recognised as true.

Have a look at The Last Supper. Meant to be 13 men. Look again.

It similar to the whole Yasser Arafat saga back in November............Lyse Doucet was outside the compound in Ramallah for two weeks before he died then another few days after with the funeral etc.

Can we expect Lyse in Rome anytime soon or even in The Vatican

Why, is Lyse now the BBC's Celebrity Deaths Correspondant!? Laughing

Yeah but this is a man who's done almost as much damage to the world as Hitler, so we'd be better off without him.

By his insistence on Catholics not using condoms he's sentenced millions to death through AIDS.

I am not a fan this pope, but your comparison is absurd.

The Opus Dei is just one face of the Christian Church.

Like so many others have already said..................This thread is about presentation and the story it relates to. And although some remarks make interesting reading, this is not the place to discuss religious beliefs.

Please try to keep this on the topic of television coverage only, not your personal views about the Pope. This is always the danger with these threads on news stories...they have a great potential to go off course.

is it? Hitler was indirectly responisble for the deaths of millions (as he got others to do it for him) while the Pope, by the condom thingy, has sentenced millions to death.

I never agree with threads being started on news stories unless they are something massive like Sept 11 or the Tsunami or if someone is covering it in an unusual way for example the jackson reconstructions.

Once again, please keep this on the topic of television coverage. Since my earlier instruction, all subsequent posts have been personal views about the Pope. Please stick to TV only.
