So who actually announced it on the ITV News Channel, Chris Rogers?

I didn't see the story break but Im guessing Steve Scott, when I switched on about 5 past 9 Steve Scott was on, then they went out of vision and Chris Rogers' voice came on, so that Steve could do the ITV1 announcement.

Interesting, but crap report graphic though.

Sad news. Thank God he's dead though: end his suffering, rather than prolong it. God be with him.

I think that may just be a poor capture in part, as I'm sure the "BBC NEWS" bits weren't blurred on my screen.

I must say in terms of *content*, I think Radio 4 have been best by far.
They have numerous pre-prepared packages on his life, influences etc.

Flickling through the news channels with the sound down they appear to have been entirely live footage from Rome, UK etc. and live interviews. In fact apart from News 24's obituary I've seen no other packages at all.

All the BBC seem to be interested in is the crying and wailing from His Replacement Holiness Tony Blair.

Can't this lying ******* keep his nose out of anything?

Good on BBC1 for providing a proper BBC News branded special and not the usual 'BBC News 24' special
