My point exactly - just noting the differences

Well you could at least back your observations with some reasoning. Saying the coverage here is 'patronising' without some kind of perspective just reads oddly. It might seem patronising to you, but there's a reason for it.

Vatican - "Pope's condition remains very grave. He is suffering from a high fever and is responding when addressed by aides."

Nothing new then.

Interestingly, News 24 saying the Cardinal responsible for annoucing the Pope's death is giving Mass. Obviously nothing is going to happen soon.

The official statement in full:

At 7 p.m. this evening Holy See Press Office Director Joaquin Navarro-Valls released the following declaration to journalists:

The clinical conditions of the Holy Father remain very serious.

In late morning a high fever developed.

When addressed by members of his household he responds correctly.

If anything does happen, are both BBC terrestial channels going to interrupt their programmes and join with N24 or are they going to have a seperate announcement? Who's likely to present the announcement?

IMO, we don't want anything to happen to the Pope but I have to admit, I believe the time is near and perhaps if he were to leave then his suffering of recent months would end.

I presume that Darren is on standby in London to present any updates or reports as necessary on the pope's health - even though Huw has done both todays bulletins so far...

What has a comment like that got to do with anything? Inappropriate, unwelcome and mis-spelled.

As an aside: anyone who makes a comment like that, and who tries to foist their view of the world on other people needs to fùck off and reconsider what they say. Wholly inappropriate for this thread.

Again, another well said post.

You deserve to be banned for making comments like that.

Harshy - I just suggested the same thing in the News 24 New Countdown thread for a post he made there too.
