The sad truth is you're right. I was in the Vatican in December and saw the Pope, and although it was a lump-in-the-throat moment then, it's all the more depressing at how someone could go from being so extremely active to the Pope we have grown used to over the past few weeks.

Yes, I agree the lights out was a sign. The Pope is definently gone. Will BBC 1 interuppt its programmes in any moment to report the breaking news story, that the Pope is perhaps dead? Do you think BBC1 will have a whole night for a special BBC News report on the Pope?

I'm sure they will only report if it is confirmed by the Vatican, which it hasn't.

They will not interrupt unless they are 100% sure, but I would expect a special report at 8pm

Because there's no credible source of information saying he has died. Reuters are quoting an Italian Media source, TASS quoting from the same source.

Is CNN quoting from Reuters? Because i know they are reporting the popes death i think.
