POP TV News: New Look

On December 15, Slovenia's POP TV will unveil new graphics and a supposedly state-of-the-art, American-designed set.

I'll post the new look here next week, but here's how things look now:

The Move

I'll post the new look soon, but here's a report that aired a day before the changes. It includes a look back at the history of the old set and a preview of the new one.

Most of the report is in Slovenian, of course, but soundbites from American set designers who worked on the new set are in English.

It still looks old! But its an improvement, don't like the fading wipe on the screens behind them after the pan though.

I agree. It's not a bad look, but there's little state-of-the-art about it. Of course, enthusiastic press releases aside, one would expect a small broadcaster in a small country to be more reactive than proactive.

This is a billboard advertising POP TV's news team and the new set. The text says "Welcome to the studio (set) of the future."

And here's a small satellite live truck with triple branding: It features the logos of Slovenian TV stations POP TV and Kanal A, as well as Croatia's Nova TV, which is owned by the same company. The combined branding allows the truck to be shared by the three stations.
