Wow I really like the desk and the sterile look. Although I think it needs a newsroom as the projection. It looks like it will feel to be a slow and pre packaged news channel and having the "buzz" of the newsroom could help fix it.

How many Poles are there in Poland? Wink

So will this channel be available in the UK for all the ex-pats?

No need putting it on Sky really, all the ex-pats in this area seem to have Cyfrowy Polsat.

Yep - most of the broadcasts direct to Poland are on wide European beams AIUI (think they're mainly at 13E) so just as easy to receive in Walsall as Warsaw (though may require a slightly larger dish)

I don't know if Polish subscription TV is available officially outside Poland, I wouldn't be surprised if it were (or at least some channels were) given the large Polish diaspora across Europe.

Obviously my own personal tastes may not reflect those of the Polish people but I don't like it much at all tbh.

One thing that I do find interesting is that yet AGAIN we have use of perspex/glass with the name or motif on (look above the desk). So that's ITV News at Ten, Five News, Fox News, Fox Business Network, Polsat News - plus you have design elements consistent with this theme used across Sky. It sure is spreading.

I don't see anything in this Sky News inspired?

Polsat News recently got an Ofcom licence:

But that doesnt necessarily mean that the channel will be joining Sky. There are many licences on the list not intended to be for Sky.....

Many 'sky' channels do not have UK Ofcom licences.

there is no requirement for it or any European Union channel to have an ofcom licence in addition to that in another member state.

Indeed with all the new ofcom nanny regulations, CBS Paramount (MTV etc) NBC Universal (sci-fi, hallmark) and a host of smaller channels are in active talks to relocate to other countries: Ireland or Spain for most.

There are 3 news channels: TVN24, TVP Info and new Polsat News.

There are also 2 business news channels (TVN CNBC Biznes and TV Biznes) and one tabloid news channel (Superstacja).

Interesting choice of microphone, a headset is very odd for a news channel. Nice pan shots.

The Ofcom licence is required if the signal is uplinked from the UK AIUI. This doesn't mean that the primary broadcast is from the UK, just that an uplink rebroadcasting it could be.

This has no bearing on which satellite or platform it is uplinked as part of - so doesn't imply, or not imply, that it will be on 28.2/5 as part of Sky or freesat.
