Points West - The Lovely Alex Lovell

Alex Lovell really does has a long way to go before reaching the newsreading skills of the much missed Susan Osman.

She's really crap at links and handovers and as for her scripts!

Last week there was a story about a flood in which she announced....

"It was like a river of water"

Later she told us about a large hole in Chippenham High Street which....

"Was as big a caravan"

Bless her!

Is this the Alex Lovell from Brainteaser on Five? If so, I didn't know she was presenting Points West. She's hardly what I'd call 'news material'.

Same one, also reknown for presenting Playhouse Disney Channel with Dave Benson-Phillips....Two legends on the one channel, clearly.

Shes not as bad as that guy who sometimes reads the news in the morning, his name is tony arnese....

She does Brainteaser across town (same studios as Deal or No Deal & The Grid) then does Points West in the evening. At least she manages to cover her cleavage on route!

I'm never comfortable with the showbiz presenters moving into news ( or vice versa ) . Weather girls are a different matter, i don't mind lightweights doing that but I want a little bit of gravitas, even with fluffy stuff like points west news.

And she also does the voice-over for the Deal or No Deal viewers competition, so shes on my TV three times a day!

Not always, she has looked like (quote)"she has just got in from clubbing" according to my mother!
