Yeah interesting that there were a couple of junctions that they could have done the News Report on BBC One but I assume it wasn't felt big enough to interupt the two big new Saturday night BBC One shows - gives the audience a chance to flick channels - especially a younger audience who probably don't know who Callaghan is.

I'm not sure if you're joking but the Queen Mother died on 30th March 2002, the second day into the BBC ONE new look.
Interesting intro - a programme slide of BBC News with an announcer. I guess this replaces static idents.
