I've also noticed that Chris & Jane also sit quite close together compared to others too, they obviously get on really well, they make a great team.
I think most, if not all, Welcome Break services show N24 all the time, I tend to frequent them as my job involves a lot of travelling. It is a Welcome Break, that is, unless of course Liz Pike is on...
Oh, Simon McCoy and Kate Silverton... of course they previously worked at erm... where was it again?
Of course I'd have to disagree. I do watch Sky now and again to see what their take on things is, and (and of course this is a personal opinion) I don't think they are as friendly as News 24 has become. Jon & Louise, Jane & Chris and now Simon & Kate are really great partnerships. I've never seen Sky presenters to be as genuinely warm as this. Perhaps it's because you know Sky is there with the sole purpose of making money, whereas the BBC is there with the sole purpose of providing a service. I always find Sky to have the feel of a 2nd rate amateur station. It's just something about the BBC that makes me want to watch them for important stuff like news. No matter how impressive their relaunch, Sky will never have that! Their studio may be big, but you get in feeling that there's nothing more to their operation. With News 24, it may be a smallish studio, but you know you're wired to the world!

You're right Moz you don't watch Sky News much. Sky hasn't made money since it started. It provided a service for eight-and-a-half years before the BBC could be arsed. BBC insiders are constantly trying to find ways to be more friendly, informal or whatever you want to call it like Sky. (Read this week's Ariel, p2 for details).
I keep hearing this nonsense about BBC N24 being better than Sky and yet keep reading in Ariel, Broadcast, Press Gazette how it is constantly trying to be more like Sky.

Fact- News 24 has been beating Sky News consistently for months on end in the ratings battle...both news services are available to exactly the same number of viewers.
" Good to have you with us, welcome along to BBC News, I'm Alistair Yates"
^^^ How can anyone watch Sky news over that?! News 24 is unbeatable I'm afraid
See the clip of him on TV Ark ending the One O'Clock news - is it me or does his face look very perverted in it. If you look at it I think you will know what I mean. Its a kind of strange dirty face he pulls!
Well its a shame Phillip has left the corporation all together but at the same time Kate is an excellent breath of fresh air at News 24. Lets hope she continues to do well.

Kate looks like Natasha Capchainosky but with glasses, does anyone agree the resemblance.
I couldn't believe the programme that was aired on ONE last night, which was introduced by the CA as an evening with "Natasha and Friends.................". Then she appeared - Natasha Kaplinsky along with Andy Williams, Tony Christe, Michael Buble, Jamie Cullam and...........Natasha Kaplinsky again.
And it got me thinking - never, in the history of BBC News, was there ever anyone who was alegedly a serious news presenter, who ever got the chance to indulge so frequently into light entertainment, as our Tash now does.
OK - Lawley did Wogan and Jill Dando (RIP) did various other "lighter" programmes. But none of them (or others) was regularly treated as a variety presenter..............
Back on topic - good to see Mr. Yates on N24 today. He is good, isn't he?
