Peter Dobbie "newsroom is a toxic waste pit"

Peter Dobbie claims that the new BBC studios at Broadcasting House are a "toxic waste pit" and have given him an illness which has put him into intensive care. He claims Nik Gowing, Babita Sharma and Lucy Hockings have had the same experiences.

Not sure what this Studio B3 the Mail is on about is - I suspect it means Floor B3, which is possibly where Studio C is?

Yep - it's the third floor below street level, where studios A-D are located. The article does get it right towards the end, after initially calling B3 a studio.

What is on B2 then if all the other studios are in B3?

Studios are often across several floors being quite high rooms.

Studio B is double height, so takes up a large part of B2. The Studio B Gallery is also on B2

That's a shame if that's the case though as Studio B is my favourite studio only second to studio e.

I heard one story this week that the standby genny exhausts at NBH are located next to the main air con intakes, which (if true) is less than optimum !! Even discounting that, the intakes are at street level, and so drag in traffic fumes ?

Private Eye reported when NBH opened that staff complained about the smell of sewage from the basement floors.
