Will be interesting how the set works being on a Wednesday night instead of Sunday morning. Do we know where it will come from?

It was supposed to be TVC. Presumably the set would be struck in front of the already standing Lorraine/GMB set..

.. But, a past 11pm finish time, and regulations on working with set strikes/de-rigs after a certain time at night, so not to disturb the residents upstairs in the concrete doughnut, puts a different spin on things.

Either they'll make more 'creative' use of the screens and panels on the existing ITV daytime sets so any extra Peston bits of the set can be wheeled out quickly and quietly, or its heading to a new studio facility all together.

Why not call it Peston on Wednesday? Does it not have the same ring to it as Peston on Sunday?

Or they could call it The Agenda with Peston

Peston’s Pesto
An exciting new format bringing together the best of weekend morning cooking and political programmes. This week, Michael Gove argues the case for a hard Brexit whilst attempting to make a crème brûlée. John Prescott explains the history and uses of the egg, a food item he is particularly familiar with.

Given that "Peston" already ends with "on", immediately following his name with the word "on" ends up almost sounding like a stutter/stammer. I always thought that they should've worded it avoiding the "on on" thing (e.g. Sunday with Peston, Peston's Sunday, or whatever).

Presumably the "...on Sunday" name was harking back to David Frost? Fine, if the host's surname ends with anything other than "on"!

Slightly odd Guardian take: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2018/jun/06/robert-peston-moves-to-midweek-itv-slot-after-poor-viewing-figures

I think it makes sense for the Peston programme - the evening repeat was scoring higher in the ratings, and the BBC's already claimed Sunday morning as its own. And a midweek evening slot gives the Peston show a space to carve its own space and style away from the uptight Marr format. I suspect the political element might be diluted slightly, moving away from the discursive interview style to make it more of a harder-hitting, topical talk show. Might suit Peston himself a little better too.

Also: ITV's been looking for a late talk show for ages; Peston is hardly Letterman but it gives them something out of what they already had. Be interesting to see if another talk format pops up in another post-News at Ten slot.

I am sure they would have planned this move well in advance of the press release today and so know how to get the set in and out. The show will end by 11.45pm, which gives plenty of time to bring in Lorraine's set for 8.30am. Studio TC2 sets are very moveable, unlike TC3 which seems to have This Morning and GMB sets up permanently.

If STV or UTV have their way, viewers in these regions might get to see Peston very later in the schedule, if they decide to air local programming.

UTV doesn't exist any more does it? UTV is an ITV plc outlet - won't they just do as they are told by management? STV is still independent - UTV is ITV Northern Ireland in all but name.
