I know it’s only for an hour, but the makeshift studio doesn’t look fantastic. The view from the window is just barstools. The Marr show managed to find a much nicer location.
Not sure why, but the screen element of the main desk has disappeared as well.
The screen is very reflective too. The screen element of the desk cover-up looks hideous, would have been better to have 'PESTON ON SUNDAY' in text across the whole thing rather than 6 logos.
They've done better in the past. When they were at the Conservative conference in Birmingham last year their makeshift studio was quite nice. View of the canal with elements of the usual set with the desk and the window panels.
Today's was pretty basic and didn't look great at all.
He would probably use Studio 2 at Television Centre if he moves, it is the nearly the same size as his currently Studio 3 at London Studios. Or if ITN have room, he could move there?

If they really couldn’t fit Peston into TVC (but I don’t see why they couldn’t), then they could just double up with the GMB set (presuming GMB is to have a standing set that is). The shows have very similar formats/set ups.

Surprised they don't use the green screen setup at ITN. Miserable I know, but ITN seem happy enough to use it for the rest of ITV News output.
I am pretty sure its not an ITN production so its not going to be in the ITN Studios just because its News & Politics.
It's made by ITV Shiver, but equally just because it's not made by ITN doesn't mean they couldn't hire a studio. Does 5News have any weekend morning bulletins? If not they could maybe get away with using their studio and gallery.
The problem with TVC is it's quite far away. You notice a lot of cabinet ministers doing Marr at NBH and then hopping over to Peston at the south bank. That wouldn't be as easy going to White City.
