It's fantastic to see ITV returning to politics, and I think the programme was great today. I liked that it wasn't just politics, and they had a few other things besides. However, they didn't use Allegra to her full potential. They should have allowed the viewers to put questions to the guests, allowing us to put the politicians to account. I was baffled why her only role was to display tweets from other politicians and "celebrities". I don't think the presentation matches the content/style of programme either. The set is fantastic, and the theme is nice, but it doesn't look "serious" enough, and I really think the desk is awful. I'd also like to see some packaged reports on the show, and I know that it's only show one and they may well intend to do so as time goes on, but it would be nice to see investigations and other little pieces.

Not interested in UK politics, but had a quick look for the presentation. The set was nice enough, but can't help thinking it was Peston's version of the Lorraine studio.
It's a shame they didn't take the opportunity to use Studio 7. It's crying out for a show to use it's fantastic view.

Time will tell if Peston on Sunday can set the news agenda in future weeks in the same way Andrew Marr's team is able to book the A list of politicians and other guests.
Not great, but I wouldn't have even known it was launching if it wasn't for this forum. Also, these kind of programmes build an audience by getting a reputation for agenda-setting interviews - and they obviously didn't have any under their belt pre-launch.
