He just managed to get May for his interview today. So it would seem Peston is making big gains, for his interviews. It seems his show is still getting into the news.
I have to admit that I have begun to really like this programme.
I had originally thought that Peston's shabby 'just got out of bed' appearance would mean he would struggle to be taken seriously, and that his monotonous drawl would irritate me over a full hour.
However, the format of the programme manages to overcome my preconceived issues. The 'set piece' interview is often in 2 or 3 segments, where the later questions are often based on twitter reactions provided by Allegra Stratton and 'Screeny'.
I'm also quite keen on the idea of 2 different political commentators each week.
I guess the plan was to take it off air in the summer, just as would be the plan with most political shows, but with the Tory leadership contest and perhaps a Labour one too, plus the continual fallout from Brexit, I wonder if it might remain on air, or at least take a shorter break than originally intended.

Next week is the last episode, its possible there could go on for another week until the 17th July since by that week the Tory leadership will be down to its final two, and it will be away to the members. If JC is still in place after this week I think most will just given in since the Iraq report will be released and the damage will be done. The series could go off for six weeks and come back for the 4th Sept.
During the Scot Ind ref Sunday Politics Scotland never took a summer break and just worked straight throw , Mind you I think there had 18month run that time, What are the chance of this story Brexit getting bigger?
True, but does feel like just as they're building up some momentum and just as politics is actually getting interesting they're going off the air, handing the advantage back to the BBC. If I were ITV I'd be looking to extend it by a couple more week at least.

Has ITV got the advantage with this show then? Must be doing rather well in ratings?
