Susan Osman has been around.

And don't forget the GWR Sunday lunchtime request show, where she had to be driven because she wasn't sure how to work the desk.

From this week's media diary in the Observer:

Quote:
SPOTTED lunching with the enemy last week; exquisitely groomed BBC news anchor Huw Edwards, right, who was seen deep in converstaion with head of ITV News, Clive Jones, a fellow member of the Welsh media 'Taffia'. Surely our Huw can't be contemplating a move? Admittedly, swanky London restaurant J Sheekey seems far too public a venue for such a delicate discussion. But the nation's favourite newsreader Trevor McDonald is retiring next year and, as Gordon Brown will testify, bigger deals have been struck at more modest eateries.

Fancy referring to the Welsh media as the "Taffia".

How rude!

Some of these people who write columns for the Sundays ought to have their bits removed.

Really, that's an interesting development. I like Robert from his Liquid News days. Isn't he the BBC's Olympic Correspondent at the moment? Should be a good move for him, I don't like that Matt Smith guy on Sky News currently.

I heard last night that Sky News's Rachael Ammatt has left, to join Channel 4 News.
I think she is one of Sky's best reporters, and can only imagine she has been poached to beef up C4's woeful pool of reporters who can handle live breaking stories.

And now she's returning to Sky...

The Observer posted:
Sky's the limit for Rachel
Channel 4's glamorous north of England correspondent Rachel Amatt, recruited from Sky News last year, has been lured back to Isleworth by the big guns at BSkyB. Amatt, below, covered some big stories for the satellite broadcaster, including the Beslan siege, and was told by head of news Nick Pollard that the door would be left ajar should she ever wish to return. That door turned out to be a revolving one - Amatt is back just three months later, leaving Channel 4 with a vacancy to fill. She will be covering Europe for Sky and, according to one friend, her return has been on the cards for some time. 'They've been very good to her. She just loves Sky.' Well, someone has to.
